Charity

It's our attitude to life...

“Too many have dispensed with generosity in order to practice charity.”
There may be some truth in this cynical observation by the French philosopher and existentialist author, Albert Camus, but it does not hold true for Freemasonry. The Masonic principle is better captured by Camus’ compatriot, Stephen Grellet – the prominent French Quaker missionary (1773-1855)—who said:
I expect to pass through this world but once; any good thing therefore that I can do, or any kindness that I can show to any fellow creature, let me do it now; let me not defer or neglect it, for I shall not pass this way again.
Region 10s activities occur on a number of levels: from the generosity of individuals to those of the lodges and Masonic associations in the region. Where we can, we work with masoniCare – the Grand Charity – to augment our fund raising efforts in aid of community groups in the region. Freemasonry is at the heart of life and charity is its life force in our community.
