CMC Report-Sep 2009

As the pictures below show, the building is progressing as planned, on time and under budget. We are very fortunate to have a builder/Project Manager that takes such pride in the work being conducted. With an average of 100 tradesmen on site on a daily basis, the attention to detail has to be seen to be believed.

Installation of the goods lift will be completed by 14th October with the remaining lifts installed 1 month later. The roof structural steel is now in place and the roof will be completed after the plant room equipment (chillers and boilers) have been installed by the end of September.

The curtain wall facade continues to rise from the ground floor and a floor will be completed each week until the building is fully enclosed.

The main ACTEW power feed is in place and the power mains sub station substantially complete. Ceiling grids are now installed from the ground floor to level 4 and the internal fitout is proceeding as planned.

We have received news today that a substantial tenant is now in negotiation with our tenancy agents and we hope to have good news shortly on this front. A number of options remain and the Board will be considering those in the near term.

The Board has now relocated our monthly meetings from the Pearce Homes to the builders site shed in Barton giving all members the opportunity for a first hand view of the building progress. Canberra Freemasons are always welcome to come on site and see the progress.

As always, any breaking news will be posted as it occurs.
