CMC Report—30 October 2009
The building continues to progress on time and budget with the slideshow below telling the story. The goods lift has been commissioned and is in use, whilst the remaining 2 lifts are due for completion as planned. Carpet tiles have been delivered for the base fitout and ceiling tiles are currently being installed on each level.
The facade continues to be installed, rising to the 6th floor whilst the "picture frame" (the featured curved front section of the building) is largely complete. The major items of plant have been installed on the 6th floor and commissioning is due to commence shortly. Once all plant has been installed, the tower crane will be decommissioned and removed.
The last remaining contract is about to be let, that being the landscaping and will complement the building design and construction. The connection of all services including power, water and gas have now been completed. The base fitout continues on the lower levels as we wait for confirmation of the major tenancy to be signed off.
When this has occurred, a more comprehensive fitout will commence to suit the requirements of the major tenant. Our intention will be to proceed with the 6th floor fitout in conjunction with the tenancy fitout. News of tenancies will be published as they are signed.
The CMC AGM will be held in the new building on 24 November at 5pm and all interested Canberra Freemasons are welcome to attend. The regular monthly Board Meeting will be held at 6pm on conclusion of the AGM.
