The Lodge of Truth 26 at Braidwood celebrated its 149th anniversary with the installation of Bro Don Buckley as Master. The Installing Master was RW Bro Geoff Bunn PJGW, who also completed his third time in the Chair; and the MW Grand Master was represented by RW Bro John Le Mesurier PAGM. The Grand Director of Ceremonies on this occasion was VW Bro Henry Nichol PDGDC.
For a small lodge with 30 members, this fraternity does very well for itself—with Master Masons in all but one progressive office (Junior Deacon); and the members raising over $10,000 for charity in the past year.
Eighty-three Masons crammed into the small lodge room to witness the ceremony which ran smoothly with the lodge's usual flair. Those attending comprised 19 Lodge members; a Grand Lodge delegation of 17 (including the RGC—RW Bro Graham Charlton PSGW; and the DGIW for District 104—VW Bro Ron Jemesen); and 47 visitors from the Region. All bar a couple of those present retired to a woolshed at Garan Vale Station for the Installation Banquet, where they feasted on roast meats and vegetables and a sumptious array of desserts—all catered for by the local branch of the Country Women's Association.
